Inspired by attending an Isaac Stern concert, Kevin began studying violin at the age of nine. By fifteen Kevin was playing guitar and piano, but abandoned all other instruments when he discovered the electric bass. In high school Kevin performed with the jazz, orchestra, and marching bands. After high school he attended the Musician’s Institute, studying with Bob Magnusson, Ray Brown, Jeff Berlin, Joe Diorio, and Carl Schroeder. Kevin moved to San Diego in 1985 and within six months was playing with one of southern California’s best jazz ensembles, the Peter Sprague group. Kevin has spent the last twenty years, performing, teaching, and recording across the United States, Europe, and South America.
